Honestly, the salesperson was the reason we went with Athena. Everything that they promised never came to fruition.

Their EHR is not user-friendly at all. Even simple tasks required a bunch of unnecessary clicks and lots of time.

The first week was very good but after that issues start rising.

The system gets crashes every day. The software has very basic features and their sales peoples push to go advanced to buy for more features.

The EMR is outstanding with great utility. A lot of things can be modified, which adds to the utility of the application. I would definitely want other people to use the application too.

The implementation of the application is a long process, as compared to other vendors in the industry. Moreover, the prices of Athena are much higher comparitively, and they should work on this.

the emr/pm is brilliant I love the functionality they offer, there are many ways to customize you charts and use portable devices incase you need to visit your patients. I really recommend it.

The design is quite outdated. It is sometimes very difficult to use, even simple creating report can be challenging and most of them are highly inaccurate.

Ease of use for scheduling. Reminder text and calls. Note system is easy to use. Statements easy to review and print.

Separating cases for insurance, self-pay, and auto. Charge for every little thing. Needs some improvement

Intuitive software and easy to access anywhere - I even logged in when I traveled abroad. Provides efficiency and productivity.

Too many screens and clicks waste a lot of time. The customer support really needs working on. Cost effective but needs improvement

Athena has a great emr/pm system and their support staff is also extremely helpful the staff here at my practice enjoy using it and understood it thoroughly during training.

It is very very expensive and I wish we didn't have to do most of the billing work ourselves, Athena need to improve on their billing and RCM services.

Athena health has helped me improve the way I practice and I can now pay more attention to my patients instead of the computer because it is very intuitive.

There have been instances where you get to suggest what you want but unfortunately not much attention is paid to our suggestions there are quite a few areas where Athena can improve if they would take our opinions and suggestions seriously.

I work out of a family practice and I would like to say that Athena's EMR is pretty decent but their billing is a bit dodgy.

the only thing I don't like about them is that we have to pay extra for almost every feature and their billing is not really good although they offer a good rate but I don't always get what I collect.

As I am new in the EMR market and Athena is my first EMR software provider so I feel it has really taken up most my tasks on its shoulders

Initially things are easy to set up but later it simply started getting complicated and eventually terrible

They have really made practice functionalities easy for the providers be it completing progress notes, accessing labs or imaging results.

They charge you way more than the things they actually deliver in their product. Their format of the letter is also very complicated.

Athenahealth ehr is very well designed for small practices, I used it every day for the orthopedics practice. The design is very well organized from patient information to form or document creation it is very easily useable.

Mostly when system update it get slower and it need adjustments. Support is quite slow. You have to call multiple time to get your issue resolved.

It is very easy to learn, which means the health care can be handled more efficiently. I can access to my clinical information easily in minutes and their secure text messaging care coordination more easy.

All the manuals are online, report creating process is very difficult. Support is very slow it is very difficult to find online and quick response from their client service team.

Athena clinical is one of the best ehr we ever came across. It designed very user friendly and easy to use which saves a lot of time for documentation and billing process. It is very easy to get patient history to medication chart.

It required some pre computer skills to use the system to navigate through different lab. It takes a week or 2 but a regular user can easily manage to learn it.

I like how I can easily search through outpatient records when caring for them in the hospital setting. Everything I need to know is located in one place such as past medical history, current medications, previous lab work and imaging ect. I can see where the patient was seen last and what was done for them. I especially like how I can message providers in order to stay in close communication with them. This allows a smoother transition when going from the inpatient to outpatient setting.

I certainly did not like that the providers outside the hospital cannot connected with Athena . If the providers is not part of the software we cannot communicate with them.

Athenahealth surprised us in excellent patient engagement features which leads us keep us update from patient’s timely visits and overall health score. Patient can easily check their records and schedule themselves without any hassle.

Customer support is a bit slower. It is very hard to reach them. Systems usually get lagged whenever

In general it keeps medical records organized and its easy to change and modify the information at any time. Software frequently gets update which is a good step. A recent update few months ago which improved the layout which is more user friendly.

First thing first, there is not enough security options to hide your certain documents or note to keep them seen from other people in your network. 2nd thing when you we send the patient case back and forth, no notification email or reminder we can have when the notes get opened.

Athena has a lots of useful features like Secure Text Messaging, Epocrates, revenue cycle management services and Care Coordination but still have some issues in reporting and billing areas. It is very useful that they categorized different specialty and physicians accounts which make easier to check and balance their schedules.

Its ehr sometimes take too many clicks to add particular information which leads to consume lots of time. Specially whenever we pull out patient’s report there are highly inaccurate.
